What is TPN?
The Trusted Partner Network (TPN) is a global, industry-wide motion picture and television content security initiative wholly owned by the Motion Picture Association. The MPA’s content security best practices, maintained by the TPN, establish a single point of reference for minimum security readiness. TPN assessments measure vendors’ current security posture against MPA best practices. TPN’s proprietary global registry of vendors rated as “Trusted Partners” provides content owners with information that enables them to make independent decisions.

Does TPN certify my facility/operation?
Upon completion of an annual TPN assessment, Suppliers may display the TPN logo to indicate that the facility has been reviewed by a qualified TPN Assessor in accordance with MPA Best Practices. While the TPN logo is recognized in the industry, it is not a “certification” or endorsement.

If I have multiple facilities or locations, do I need multiple Assessments?
For assessment purposes, TPN considers each individual Vendor site as part of a separate Assessment. In case of multiple locations, it will therefore be necessary to organize multiple Assessments.

Who can see my TPN Assessment?
TPN Assessments are visible to TPN participating content owners, as well as TPN’s internal experts. Any other party, including other suppliers, will not have access to the Assessment or the information contained therein.

When will the new TPN structure be available?
TPN launched new program features, including app/cloud Assessments and the new TPN platform, in February 2023. New Assessments can be scheduled starting in March 2023.

What is the Blue Shield?
TPN Blue Shield status is provided when a service provider self-reports their security status using the TPN questionnaire and submits responses on the new TPN platform with associated documentation. The information entered will be directly available to companies using the TPN service.

What is the Gold Shield?
Gold TPN Shield status is provided following a comprehensive TPN Assessment, which can be completed after obtaining the Blue Badge.

What is the duration of the Blue Shield and Gold Shield?
The duration of the Blue Shield is one year, while that of the Gold Shield is two years.

Can my current TPN rating be used towards the new Blue and Gold TPN Shield status?
A current TPN rating will not count towards obtaining the new Blue and Gold TPN Shield status.

If I get TPN Gold status, renewable every two years, will I only need to pay for my TPN subscription every two years?
No, the TPN membership fee is due annually.

Will my current Assessment still be valid in 2023?
Yes, all Assessments made before 11 January 2023 will remain valid for one year. However, bear in mind that in the event of any open remediations, it will be possible to send documents to close them only until the end of March 2023. After this date, the assessments will be converted into pdf in the new platform and will no longer be editable.
